The National Security Group of SAIC is seeking a Special Security Officer to support the USCYBERCOM J3 contract with our customer at Ft. Meade in Maryland. The Personnel Security Specialist III will support the management and oversight of a comprehensive Special Compartmented Information (SCI) program.
The successful candidate will manage and maintain security files and forms including, but not limited to, processing of foreign contacts, unofficial foreign travel, investigation packages, and other appropriate day to day security support to SCIF operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites software: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Knowledge of commonly applied personnel security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out a variety of support assignments.
- Responsible for a wide variety of personnel security functions related to in-processing and out-processing of command affiliates.
- Exhibits an expert level of knowledge of all security oversight publications, instructions, and guides (SEAD's, DoD Directives, Executive Orders Intelligence Collection Directives, etc.).
- Makes and implements recommendations to ensure security compliance with policy and security guidance documents.
- Possess practical knowledge and experience with Defense Information Security System (DISS) and Scattered Castles.
- Responsible for the development, management, and implementation of policies and procedures for multiple security programs.
- Possesses the ability to establish effective professional relationships with senior military leadership, civilian leaders, coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
Qualifications
Education and Required Experience:
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience performing Special Security Officer duties with a bachelor's degree. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum ten (10) years of experience performing Personnel Security functions working in a Special Security Office, as a national security adjudicator, as a background investigator, or security manager
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) or equivalent
- Knowledge in Alternative Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) and SAP/STO programs
Required Security Clearance
- Active Top-Secret Clearance with Polygraph
