SAIC's Horizon program is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute in developing mission unique software and engineering analysis code using modern techstack tools and methodologies to support the U.S. Space Forces mission of delivering warfighter capability via the Space Systems Command's Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power and Battle Management, Command, Control and Communications weapon system portfolios. Position is available in El Segundo, California.
The Horizon program is supporting Government weapon systems program offices with subject matter experts that have a background with the Space-based and, or Ground Systems including Command & Control services. Horizon team members provide systems engineering development and integration expertise in support of various capabilities that protect and defend the Nation's most valuable space assets. Our team is at the forefront of the advising and assisting the Government with their architecture and full lifecycle systems engineering processes that enable key systems (e.g., satellites and their ground systems, ground-based space systems and their command and control capabilities) to meet warfighter needs.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain end-to-end software solutions, including front-end and back-end components
- Collaborate with all teams in the development cycle, including Development, DevOps and Cloud Integration, as well as with the customers themselves
- Build and optimize responsive and user-friendly/intuitive applications
- Enhance connectivity of the Digital Engineering Ecosystem's (DEE) software as well as important external applications and data sources
Qualifications
This is you:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field with at least 5 years experience.
- At least 5 years experience implementing the following:
- Software development, preferably full-stack development
- Technology stack experience using NodeJS, HTML5, and React
- Server-side programming with Javsacript/Typescript and frameworks such as Express or Fastify
- Programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++
- RESTful API design, integration and testing
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- Must have an active Secret security clearance
- Must be willing to undergo a security background investigation (T5), adjudicated for SCI eligibility, or have an in-scope BI and/or enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
- Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field with at least 3 years experience with:
- Development in DevSecOps environment
- Agile methods, practices, and tools (Confluence & Jira)
- AI/ML exposure and understanding
- Database architecture construction (non- and relational databases)
- Active Top Secret clearance (T5), or an in-scope BI and/or enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
