SAIC is the premier Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) integrator with expertise in transforming legacy command and control systems into a modern hybrid cloud environment to accelerate decision making and increase mission success. This new program is part of a broader effort to provide a tactical operational picture aligned with the JADC2 and Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) to adapt to new and emerging threats. This next generation approach shall employ the latest advancements across the technology spectrum and distributed architectures to deliver a cutting-edge approach.

SAIC is seeking a lead engineer to act as Software Integration Sensor Management Team Lead in support of our United States Air Force customer. Sensor management in the Air Force involves the strategic use and coordination of various sensors to enhance situational awareness, improve decision making and optimize the effectiveness of the military operators. The ideal candidate will require experience in software (SW) design, development, configuration management, product development lifecycle, product backlog development and refinement. Candidate will work closely with development teams, and other stakeholders to design and implement integration and test solutions for sensor management services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Technical Hands on Release Train Team Lead for Sensor Management team
  • Lead integration of sensor management team responsible for integrating with other release train teams consisting of data management, track management and command and control (C2) systems.
  • Experience working in an Agile team/framework is required
  • Ability to analyze, groom and decompose of integration task from Epics to features to user stories.
  • Lead the development, integration and test within the release train
  • Support software and hardware integration and testing activities.
  • Collaborate with Developers and Lead Software Integration Engineer to understand presentation layers and other map data requirements and integration needs related to product information.
  • Design and implement solutions to integrate product data across various software systems and applications.
  • Ensure requirements compliance and team executes on schedule
  • Conduct code reviews for software changes, perform development testing, develop and maintain unit test procedures, provide code difference reports, and collect required software metrics.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree and nine (9) years or more experience; Master's degree and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.

  • Proven background working in software integration with specific experience and knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Familiarity with Weapons System, Radars Systems, Track Correlators, and Command and Control (C2) systems
  • Working knowledge of Data Ingest Pipelines, ETL Framework
  • Experience with Python, Java, Kafka Topics, Accumulo, Javascript
  • Experience with data layer optimization and transformation
  • Product development lifecycle and track management principles
  • Containers: RKE2, K8s, Docket Containers, Redhat/Openshift and Micro Service Architecture
  • Virtualization: Tanzu, VMWare, VSphere
  • Full stack software development (client and server side) 
  • Languages: Java, Javascript, Python, php, HTML, JSON, C/C++ 
  • Interface Standards: API Development with REST or SOAP
  • Database: Streaming/Messaging tools such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or ZeroMQ , MYSQL, Accumolo/NOSQL DB, PostGres
  • Virtualization: VMware, vSphere, and Microsoft Hyper-V
  • DevOps Tooling: GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Git, Tekton
  • Encryption/Security Technologies: SSL, TLS, WPA2, LDAP, IPSEC, CAC
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Hands on experience in Air Force Sensor Management software development preferred

Target salary range: $150,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
