SAIC is seeking an Senior Test Engineer support of test campaign designs, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting of radiation detection systems for our team. Critical analytical skills are necessary. Proficiency in the application of analytic methods and analysis tools is required to provide decision makers with a quantitative basis for the evaluation of radiation detectors in support of acquisition decisions.
This role is primarily remote in the Northern VA area but will require travel and occasional attendance in office. Typical travel is 10-15% but can be up to 25% depending on program support schedule. Candidates must be local to the DMV area.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Agency components and National Laboratories to plan and execute test events.
- Using statistical Design of Experiments methods in developing test designs.
- Writing technical documents to include analysis plans, test plans, and test reports in both MS Word and LaTeX typesetting program.
- Developing efficient test and analysis tools using software such as MatLab, LabVIEW, JMP, and Microsoft Office Excel.
- Identifying, tracking, and managing schedules and technical risks.
- Providing on-site test support.
- Interact with customer representative to assist with resolving any operational or technical issues.
- Identifying areas where improvements can be made and offering plans to execute those improvements.
- Statistically analyzing and developing visual representation of test data using common analysis/visual software suites (e.g. MATLAB, JMP, DIAdem, Excel, etc.).
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 9+ years or master's degree with 7+ years of combined work in a technical or scientific field
- Experience in performing analysis on large data sets or in a test and evaluation related field (system engineering, data analysis, test documentation development, data mining, and/or modeling and simulation) or similar work experience.
- Must have active secret clearance with ability to obtain DHS Suitability prior to starting work with our team requiring U.S. Citizenship.
- Experience using analytical/statistical tools to optimize test designs, determine sample sizes, and model performance.
- Ability to analyze large amounts of test data and display results in a meaningful way (graphics, tables, diagrams, etc.).
- Must be able to work independently, as well as work in and/or lead multiple people in dynamic team environments.
- Excellent written, communication, presentation, and technical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Desired Qualifications:
- Interdisciplinary knowledge or research experience in ChemBio and/or Physics.
- Knowledge of radiological/nuclear material detectors
- Experience in operational support for coordinating tasks related to training and exercise activities.
- Knowledge of Design of Experiments methodology.
- Knowledge of Modeling and Simulation.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
