SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on DevOps methodologies to play an integral role in maintaining and improving the quality, reliability, and velocity of our customers' software development and deployment lifecycle. You will play a critical role in supporting and improving the entire DevOps software delivery lifecycle tech stack. You will support and advance modern tools and workflows that enable our development teams to scale our cloud software offerings with high quality and fast release cycles.
This team is responsible for the software lifecycle, and deployment of USSF Cloud Initiatives, designed to streamline performance, reduce administrative overhead and workload, and deliver a seamless user experience with our customers. We are looking for talent in Vandenberg, California for an on-site work situation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust automation workflows for software build, test, and deployment processes to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline development and operational activities.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and other IT teams to ensure seamless, high-quality software delivery.
- Conduct systems analysis and evaluation to identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
- Provide expert guidance and support for DevOps tools and practices, facilitating knowledge sharing across teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and five (5)+ years or more of related experience in systems integration and automation within a DevOps culture; Master's degree and three (3) years or more experience in systems integration and automation within a DevOps culture.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance; must be a current U.S. Citizen.
- Strong expertise in DevOps methodologies and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes) to include CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks.
- Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their management APIs.
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Premetheus, Grafana).
- Experience with Zero Trust, identity management, and automated security monitoring.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certifications in DevOps, cloud computing, or related fields (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator).
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Understanding of microservices architecture and API integration.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
