Position Overview: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Configuration Analyst to join our talented team. In this role, you will be responsible for documenting and tracking all aspects of system development and modifications, ensuring configuration identification by reviewing design release documents. Duties include preparing deviations and waivers, reviewing document change requests, and maintaining databases.

Work is performed on site in Norfolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA.

This position is contingent upon award news Spring of 2026.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design product changes and analyze the effects of the overall system. 
  • Assist in documenting and tracking all aspects of system development and modifications. 
  • Ensure configuration identification by reviewing design release documents for completeness and proper authorizations. 
  • Prepare deviations and waivers for government approval when specifications cannot be met. 
  • Review all issued document change requests, document change notices and associated drawings for accuracy, completeness and proper signatures. 
  • Structure and maintain databases. 
  • Submit engineering changes to customers for review and approval; maintains records and submit reports regarding status. 
  • Prepare configuration verification audit record sheets for all programs.
  • Develop and implement configuration management strategies aligned with organizational goals. 
  • Identify and document configuration items (CIs) across the IT infrastructure. 
  • Manage configuration changes through a controlled change process, including impact analysis and approvals. 
  • Automate configuration deployments using scripting and configuration management tools. 
  • Monitor system configurations for deviations from baselines and addressing discrepancies. 
  • Maintaining accurate records of system configurations, tracking changes, and reporting on configuration status. 
  • Assist in regular configuration audits to verify compliance with security policies and standards. 
  • Test and validate configuration changes to ensure functionality and stability.
  • Troubleshoot configuration issues and resolving conflicts. 
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of configuration management best practices. 
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on configuration management practices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's level degree and six (6) years of professional experience in configuration management.
  • Understanding of Configuration Management tools. 
  • Knowledge of system architecture, components, dependencies, and their impact on configuration changes. 
  • Ability to write scripts for automated configuration management tasks, including infrastructure provisioning and deployment. 
  • Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems for managing configuration changes. 
  • Understanding of database management systems to manage configuration data stored within databases. 
  • Effectively communicating configuration changes and their impact to various stakeholders including developers, operations teams, and security personnel. 
  • Create clear and concise documentation for configuration management processes, procedures, and standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated communication and documentation skills.

Required Security Clearance:

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
    • Active Interim Secret or final Secret clearance is preferred.
