Description

The Steelhorse contract is seeking a dedicated individual from within the Steelhorse team to take on the role of Section Manager, leading a group of 7–10 professionals. This position serves as an additional responsibility to the candidate's current full-time role on the Steelhorse contract, rather than replacing it.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI & Poly
  • Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant experience can be substituted for the degree
  • Must be a current member of the Steelhorse team
  • Readiness and capability to learn and utilize SAIC's corporate tools and processes, which include reviewing and approving timecards for accuracy and timeliness each week, navigating the myPortal application to monitor employee statuses, approve HR actions, and implement updates as directed and assisting new hires on their first day by helping them navigate SAIC systems, addressing their questions, and resolving any initial challenges
  • Participation in candidate interviews, providing assessments upon request from the Program Manager
  • Familiarity with delivering annual performance reviews and merit feedback
  • A strong track record with no prior personnel issues or negative HR incidents
  • Demonstrated success in their current role with the customer

Desired:

  • Knowledge of corporate HR policies, including counseling employees on performance, and developing improvement plans
  • Previous management experience within a government or contractor setting
