SAIC is seeking a SDA Ground Lead to support the Space Development Agency (SDA). The SDA Ground Lead to oversee the development, integration, and testing of advanced ground systems supporting space operations. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of ground acquisitions, system engineering, and operational readiness to ensure mission success across a range of critical programs.
Note: This role can be located in Chantilly, VA; Huntsville, AL; Colorado Springs, CO; or El Segundo, CA
Responsibilities to include:
- Provide technical leadership for the development and integration of ground systems, focusing on programs such as Space Operations Center (SOC), Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE), and Enterprise Ground Services (EGS).
- Support the implementation and advancement of the Overhead Persistent Infrared Processing Ground Architecture (OPGA) and the Cross-Mission Ground & Communications Enterprise.
- Oversee mission-critical operations, including Mission Management, Telemetry, Tracking, and Commanding (TT&C), and Mission Data Processing Application Framework (MDPAF).
- Guide the creation and maintenance of System of Systems Design, CONOPS, and Systems Requirements Documents (SRD) to ensure mission alignment and technical accuracy.
- Facilitate engineering review processes, including SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR, to support project milestones and decision-making.
- Conduct Integrated Systems Test, SITL (Software-in-the-Loop), and HITL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) to validate system performance and readiness.
- Develop and manage Requirements Verification Plans (RVP) and Requirements Verification Traceability Matrices (RVTM) to ensure all requirements are met.
- Oversee the development and implementation of Interface Control Documents (ICD) to enable seamless system integration.
- Manage and participate in the Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Configuration Control Board (CCB) to ensure technical rigor and program compliance.
- Collaborate on space launch and launch integration activities, as well as LEOps (Launch and Early Orbit Phase) and on-orbit testing to support system deployment and mission readiness.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, etc.). Relevant experience to be substituted in lieu of degree.
- Active SECRET with the ability to obtain a TOP SECRET clearance with SCI Access
- 10 years of experience in ground acquisitions, focusing on the development, integration, and testing of ground systems.
- Expertise in ground systems operations and architecture, including SOC, FORGE, EGS, and OPGA.
- Strong understanding of systems engineering practices, including requirements development, system integration, and system testing.
- Proficiency in creating and managing technical documentation, including ICDs, SRDs, and engineering review artifacts.
- Experience with engineering review processes and tools like PLM.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
