SAIC is seeking a highly motivated SCA Engineering Technician VI to support the Specialized Munitions Division at Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane, IN.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
In this position, you will collaborate with other professionals to solve challenging problems, participate in sustainment operations, testing, and fielding solutions critical to the Nation's security, and support of our frontline warfighters. You will assist government customers and our contractor team with various projects and tasks, while building and maintaining strategic relationships with customers, sponsors, and related industry partners.
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
· Support customers and sponsoring organizations in planning operations, reviewing, updating, testing, and documenting captured assessment data for Advanced Optical Target Detection (AOTD) Systems, and Safe & Arming devices for rolling airframe Missiles.
· Completing sustainment operations including tasks such as system component assessment, planning, dis-assembly / re-assembly, operational testing, Quality Assurance, and recording/reporting of final task completion accurately for the customers', sponsors and end users mission success.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High School and ten + years' experience; Associates degree and seven + years' experience, or Bachelors and three + years' experience.
· Project Management and Technical Leadership.
· Capable of assessing project issues and helping the team to develop resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.
· Attention to detail with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to convey technical information effectively to a variety of audiences in oral or written formats.
· Experience in setup, operation and debugging control software such as MATLAB, LabVIEW or similar.
· Advanced knowledge and experience in Electronics or Electro-Mechanical Assembly, and Test Operations.
· Must be proficient with computers and have experience with Microsoft suite of software tools (Outlook, Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
· Proficient in Soldering. Preferably 7711/7721 Solder Certified, or J-STD-001 Solder Certified.
· Ability to perform non-routine operations with substantial variety and complexity, only requesting advice from supervisors or engineers.
· Ability to meet physical health, personal responsibility, and safety requirements to obtain and maintain an explosive certification.
· Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance.
· US Citizenship.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
· Knowledge of Explosives or Ordnance System testing.
· Centrifuge Testing, Dry Room Assembly.
· DoD Test and Evaluation requirements and sustainment operations standard operating procedures.
· Navy Shipboard equipment, test and diagnostics systems
