SAIC is looking for a Drafter/ Cad Operator III to support the US Navy in Crane, IN.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

In this role you will support a team creating/updating Technical Data Packages using AutoCad CAD Software, Architectural background preferred with knowledge of using AutoCad with view-ports using the model tab, layout out tab, scaling and layers. Have the ability to communicate effectively and able to complete professional correspondence.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Creates and modifies detailed drawings using AutoCAD CAD Software

  • Works closely with the Customer, Engineers, Technicians and other CAD Operators to capture design

  • Works independently as well as in a collective team effort to effect changes to design and/or documentation

  • Performs a variety of moderate and complex tasks and have the ability to use a variety of tools to include, but not limited to, Calipers, Gauges, Tape Measure, Ruler and other mechanical devices to aid in design development and verification/validation of first article pieces

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of five (5) years of related experience.

  • Hands-on mechanical/electro-mechanical knowledge and aptitude with understanding of currently accepted manufacturing processes and ISO procedures

  • Understand Architectural Layouts and procedures

  • Must be detail oriented and able to communicate complex ideas

  • Ability to quickly complete tasking independently and as a team member, with detailed or general instruction

  • Interim secret clearance required to start with the ability to obtain a secret clearance.  SAIC will sponsor the clearance process.

  • Candidate must be a US Citizen

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree or Bachelor's in a related field and 

  • Knowledge of: ASME-Y14.100, MIL-STD-31000 an associated Drawing Standards, Technical Data Packages, and Military Standards

  • Experienced with AutoCAD
