SAIC seeks an experienced and energetic program manager to directly support the modernization of the space launch ranges, meeting mission requirements, providing range capabilities, and supporting the Digital Transformation and Maintenance Modernization (DTAMM) program. The overarching purpose of the program is to perform system modernization and digital transformation projects that will enable the acceleration of the space launch cadence to enable the Spaceport of the future. This position is located in Santa Maria, CA.
The selected candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan. The Program Manager will also define the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and excellent communication skills.
Job Responsibilities:
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Coordinate and lead project activities across multiple business units ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met.
Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Identify and manage project risks and issues.
Monitor progress and adjust plans as necessary, keeping stakeholders informed of any significant changes.
Oversee project team members, providing direction and support as needed.
Develop and deliver status reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Qualifications
Required Education, Experience, Qualifications and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree and eighteen (18) years of experience or master's degree and sixteen (16) years of experience
Experience with capability deployment on the space launch ranges
Experience managing large-scale modernization projects, to include cost estimating and management, schedule development, performance monitoring and reporting
Strong understanding of financial management.
Strong familiarity with project management software, such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, or similar tools.
Experience delivering multiple simultaneous modernization initiatives.
Experience managing teams/projects acquiring, maintaining, and sustaining integrated solutions for space launch or other national security space mission systems
Experience in systems engineering
Must be able to interface with all levels of functional/division acquisition offices to accomplish projects for the government program office.
Program Management Professional Certification
Desired Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Master of Science in engineering, science, or related technical field
Experience in large Government systems acquisition
Thorough understanding of space systems design, integration and test requirements and test execution, including test equipment support.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
