Welcome to our EDIS contract. Here at SAIC we are supporting this exciting Engineering, Development, Integration, and Sustainment (EDIS) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for the Rapid Resilient Command and Control (R2C2) Task Order located in Colorado Springs, CO at Schriever Space Force Base (SSFB) and other local installations. This program specifically supports the United States Space Force (USSF) Space and Systems Command (SSC) customer to provide common core hardware and software infrastructure for satellite command and control (C2) capabilities for the Dynamic Space Operations (DSO) mission thread. 

To be successful in this role as our Systems Engineer, you will provide experience with Space Vehicles (SV) and ground systems familiarity, to take on a systems engineering role reporting to the Task Order Manager and Deputy Task Order Manager. Your work will be performed at various sites but primarily at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO, with approximately 10 percent travel. In this role you will focus on systems engineering, project management, as well as use your excellent soft skills to influence and work with EDIS teammates, government IPT leads, and other mission partners and stakeholders.  If you enjoy problem solving and thrive in a fast paced, demanding, and dynamic environment, we want you to join our team.   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering support for the sustainment of satellite ground systems and development of new and upgraded system capabilities.
  • Ensure that the program is adhering to sound engineering processes in the development, test, integration and sustainment systems for our customers.
  • Use and incorporate broad technical knowledge of the diverse business areas within the enterprise in the assessment of network engineering technologies, computing systems hardware and software protocols.
  • Coordinate across technical and functional teams to ensure requirements are known and met and effectively communicate results, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain cognizance over technical activities and schedule milestones within program Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
  • Assist technical teams with Engineering Review Board (ERB) and Change Control Board (CCB) presentation slides.
  • Establish overall strategic network standards and priorities to maintain the network baseline; recommend network design changes/enhancements; and analyze the optimization of network systems performance.
  • Provide high-level technical advice and guidance to managers and technical resources through which network technologies can be utilized to meet current and future organizational needs.
  • Develop and maintain network topologies and diagrams.
  • Work with teammates and external stakeholders on all phases of the systems engineering process.  Help identify, communicate, and manage project risks.
  • Interface with teammates to resolve and mitigate problems arising during implementation.
  • Respond resourcefully to new demands and challenges.
  • Participate in technical interchange meetings and reviews.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility (must be eligible for SCI indoctrination within first 3 months of start date) and be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering field and 9 years of technical experience (4 years of additional experience may be used in lieu of degree)
  • Minimum 5 years' direct experience in space systems, space command and control, or equivalent relevant disciplines including industry (development Contractor), DoD or other Agency (NRO, NSA, NASA, etc.) background
  • 5+ of complex satellite ground systems, or satellite operations
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem solving skills, and creativity
  • Team player with a strong work ethic and initiative to perform in a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to present clearly and succinctly to customers
  • Demonstrated previous Systems Engineering leadership experience on major DoD systems acquisitions

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
