SAIC is searching for a Payload Antenna & Electronics Engineer to support the Government customer in the oversight of the design, integration, and test of spacecraft payloads. This position requires an active Top Secret Clearance with SCI and a Polygraph and is supported in Chantilly, VA.
In this role you will provide expert advice and coordination concerning antenna and associated electronics development.
Specific duties include:
- Assess feasibility of new antennas and antenna functionality enhancements.
- Review and coordinate on changes to specifications, interface control documents, and system level requirements documentation pertaining to the functionality and accommodation of antennas onto the satellite bus.
- Identify and assess emerging risks; develop and evaluate proposed burn-down plans. Provide support to factory integration and test activities as required.
- Review antenna manufacturing specifications for accuracy and ensure documentation is complete and accurate.
- Review drawings, documents, and procedures for antenna, design, manufacturing, integration, program planning and execution -- provide comments to the Government customer.
- Work with antenna models for performance evaluations and predictions.
- Attend antenna and payload level design reviews and program management reviews to assess antenna design maturity, requirements compliance and to provide informed technical recommendations to the Government customer.
- Provide technical evaluation of payload efforts in contractor Engineering Change Proposals.
- With Government customer coordination and approval, may be called upon to represents Government's position during factory meetings.
Qualifications
Required Clearance:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI Clearance with a Polygraph
Required Education:
- Bachelors and 9 years or more experience; or a Masters and 7 years or more experience; or a PhD or JD and 4 years or more experience
Required Experience:
- Experience with spacecraft antenna design, manufacture, and test.
- Basic understanding of Defense and Intelligence Community (DoD/IC) satellite systems, and architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to be effective in a Government/Contractor team environment.
- Able to travel domestically up to 25%.
