SAIC is seeking a motivated Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in the administration and maintenance of our network infrastructure. This role involves working closely with senior engineers to ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of our network systems.
· Network Setup and Maintenance: Install, configure, and support network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
· Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance, identify issues, and collaborate with senior engineers to resolve outages or optimize systems.
· Security Management: Assist in implementing and maintaining network security measures, including firewalls and access controls.
· Upgrades and Updates: Perform routine maintenance, including software updates, patches, and hardware upgrades.
· Documentation: Maintain detailed records of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
· Collaboration: Work with other IT teams to support organizational goals and ensure seamless communication across systems.
· Learning and Development: Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to enhance skills and contribute to the team's success.
Qualifications
Skills Required:
· Basic understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
· 2 + years of experience in administering Enterprise Networking systems.
· Knowledge of Azure cloud networking fundamentals and security best practices is desirable.
· Knowledge of Networking technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN
o Cisco CCNA or CompTIA Network+ certification is preferred.
o Routing Platforms – Cisco ISR, ASR, CSR
o Switching Platforms - Cisco Catalyst & Nexus
· Knowledge of Network Security, DMVPN, IPSEC and Encryption Standards
o Security Platforms – Cisco Firepower Threat Defense, ASA, Secure Firewall Management Center
· Knowledge of F5 BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) is desirable.
· Bachelor's degree in computer science, networking administration, information technology, or a similar field preferred.
· Troubleshooting skills.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
