To address the growing demands within the Department of Defense, SAIC is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Midlevel Cloud Engineer Team Manager to support Migration Planning Platform on our Digital and AI Team as we embark on a large initiative to lead the design and operate integrated Enterprise IT solutions that deliver AI-enabled capabilities and enable data-driven decision making to missions across the Department, Services, and Combatant Commands.
The Ideal candidate will be adept at managing customer relationships, driving operational excellence, and fostering continuous improvement across all service areas.
Core Responsibilities
- Designs, plans, and integrates cloud computing and virtualization systems.
- Develops and conducts testing of cloud and virtualization systems.
- Maintains technical expertise relevant industry standards and in cloud computing and virtualization technologies.
- Evaluates and reports on new cloud and virtualization technologies to enhance capabilities of cloud-based and virtualized services.
- Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Provides guidance to subordinates to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.
- Manage and maintain the Advana System across all Cloud Service Provider (CSP) and Security Environments, including AWS GovCloud and NIPRNet.
- Maintain the Authority to Operate (APWS) for the Advana System.
- Manage and control accounts, passwords, software licenses, and certificates required for operating the Advana System.
- Migrate users and workloads from Advana to the new system ensuring continuity and minimal disruption.
- Ensure the successful migration of all custom data products developed by users in Advana v1.0 to the new system.
- Ensure an uninterrupted user experience during the transition from Advana to the new platforms.
- Develop and execute a detailed Migration Communication Plan to keep Advana customers and users informed throughout the migration process.
- Ensure system and security logs are maintained and properly archived.
Qualifications
- Bachelors and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience.
- Experience working in a cloud environment, preferably AWS.
- Experience working in an Agile Community, using Agile methodology for product and project management.
- Experience working in a DoD environment supporting one of the Armed Forces in an enterprise IT environment, across multiple domains and various clearance levels.
- SEC+ certification or similar certification to meet DoD 8140 (formerly DoD 8570) requirements.
- US citizenship and Secret security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in designing and deploying cloud solutions to Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud (GCP).
- Experience using VPCs, S3, IAM, EC2, Lambda, WorkSpaces, CloudWatch, Directory Services and SSM.
- Ability to program in Python and experience having written Lambda functions.
Strong customer service skills, teaming skills, and the ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team as well as the cloud service providers (AWS). - Experience working with the Advana System/Platform.
- ITIL v3 and/or v4 certification.
- AWS AI Practitioner Certification
