SAIC is seeking a Machinist in Crane, IN to operate CNC and related fabrication tooling in a dedicated multimachine shop, along with assisting in other requested and related tasks for the Special Munitions Development Group. Under general supervision, this position will support operations of a multifaceted organization/team that executes engineering, testing, prototype development, and limited production tasking. Incumbent shall have the opportunity to build strategic relationships through learning customers and continuing to hone their specialty through on the job and other training to continuously improve.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Program, setup, and operate CNC Machinery
  • Learn and adapt knowledge in completion of routine and non-routine fabrication tasks.
  • Assess and review engineering drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, with a minimum 2 years' experience or successful completion of a technical degree/certification.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret clearance; not needed to start
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Self-starter with good organizational skill
  • Experience with Mastercam
  • Experience utilizing common fabrication measuring tools (i.e., calipers, micrometers, etc…)

DESIRED

  • Microsoft Office experience (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Experience with Hurco machining equipment and programming
  • General understanding of quality assurance
  • Demonstrated ability completing simple and complex fabrication builds
