SAIC is seeking a Junior Automated Software Test Engineer supporting the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) in support of the Interoperability Engineering System (IES) in Huntsville, AL. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Automated Tester to join our team working on the IES software. This position is perfect for candidates with a foundational understanding of software testing and a passion for ensuring quality in software applications. As an Automated Tester, you will play a critical role in verifying the functionality and performance of IES.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute automated test scripts using JavaScript to validate system functionality and performance.
- Collaborate with developers and project stakeholders to identify testing needs and clarify requirements.
- Document and track defects using a bug tracking system, ensuring clear communication of issues.
- Maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and scripts.
- Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues found during testing.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize Git for version control, managing test scripts and related documentation.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in software testing.
Qualifications
Education Requirement:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or six (6) years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Clearance Requirements:
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance or have the ability to obtain one; US Citizenship required.
Required Skills:
- Familiarity with automated testing tools; Squish
- Basic knowledge of JavaScript for writing and modifying test scripts.
- Understanding of version control systems, particularly Git.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or projects related to software testing or quality assurance.
- Exposure to software development life cycles (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Experience with additional programming languages or testing frameworks is a plus.
- Knowledge of Squish is a bonus.
