SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Executive Support Action Officer (ESAO) to support the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Space Acquisition and Integration (SAF/SQ) in its Science, Technology, and Engineering Directorate. SAF/SQ has overall responsibility for Department of the Air Force (DAF) space systems acquisition and architectures oversight as well as integration of allied, civil, and commercial space capabilities into United States Space Force (USSF) architectures. These responsibilities are carried out in close collaboration with the Chief of Space Operations (CSO) and the USSF staff. SAF/SQ also serves as the Space Service Acquisition Executive (SAE) and oversees and directs the activities of the Space Rapid Capabilities Office (SpRCO), Space Systems Command (SSC), and the Space Development Agency (SDA). SAF/SQ's guiding objectives are to (1) drive speed into space acquisitions, (2) make our space architecture more resilient, (3) integrate our space architecture with other war fighting domains, (4) drive program management discipline across our acquisitions, and (5) ensure that space and ground acquisitions are time phased to optimize operational availability. Achieving these objectives requires a workforce with broadly diverse and deep skills in system engineering, program management, architecture analysis, program planning and budgeting, and executive level communications and support.

The ESAO supports the SAF/SQT Director by facilitating the oversight and direction of staff actions, ensuring staff compliance with SAF/SQ Business Rules, and ensuring the Director is prepared to successfully execute the duties of the day. The ESAO establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the Director's internal and external stakeholders, thrives in a work environment with high expectations, and executes diverse work assignments while maintaining strict attention to detail.

Responsibilities

·       Assign and allocate taskers within Division to appropriate offices

·       Perform administrative tasks including maintaining records, schedules, and correspondence. 

·       Compile and track Congressional response reports, studies, questions

·       Manage staff actions for the Director's office using the Enterprise Task Management System (ETMS2) software application. Brief status at weekly staff meetings

·       Preview staff packages and documentation to ensure compliance with standards set forth in HQ Operating Instruction 33-3, the Tongue and Quill, and other related staff guides.

·       Perform iterative editorial coordination with staff officers to ensure work products are compliant with required quality and format standards prior to Director's review.

·       Communicate Director's direction to staff officers in coordination with Deputy Director, as required.

·       Monitor progress on staff action items, track progress against suspense deadlines, prepare periodic reports on action status and keep Director aware of late, pending, new actions.

·       Coordinate and de-conflict scheduling of events for the Director's calendar and ensure scheduled events reflect the priorities of the Director and senior leader stakeholders.

·       Manage records generated during the execution of the Director's projects and programs in accordance with statute and regulations, as well as military directives and instructions.

·       Make recommendations and prepare briefings, point papers, and other materials based on Director's direction.

·       Complete or draft responses where candidate's expertise or knowledge can be
inputted

·       Build and sustain Pentagon network and organizational contacts to
foster coordination

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

·       Must have an active TS clearance with SCI eligibility to be considered for the position.

·       Bachelor's Degree and 7-15 years of relevant work experience serving in a headquarters (HQ) staff element (years of experience in lieu of a degree may be permitted).

·       Working familiarity with typical HQ staff packages and documentation to include Electronic Staff Summary Sheets (eSSS), “buckslips”, memoranda, and official letter correspondence.

·       Working familiarity with standard HQ task and correspondence coordination tools to include Task Management Tool (TMT), Enterprise Task Management System (ETMS-2), and Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS).

·       Proficiency with using Microsoft Office and other standard computer applications.

·       Experience working successfully with senior executives at multiple organizational levels.

·       Experience fostering stable and productive working relationships that communicate expectations and promote cooperation.

·       Experience communicating effectively and concisely using a variety of styles and techniques appropriate to the audience.

·       Ability to work collaboratively with personnel at all levels of the organization.

·       Exemplary writing and editing skills with strict attention to detail.

·       Ability to adapt to rapidly adjust to changing work environments while maintaining high levels of performance and support.
