SAIC is looking for an Electrical Engineer in Crane, IN to support the U.S. Navy.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Provide obsolescence Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) focusing on lifecycle management activities supporting multiple DoD systems
  • Identify obsolescence issues and conduct parts research; provide market research analysis for obsolete and replacement parts to determine compatibility of form, fit, function, and performance based on technical drawings 
  • Research vendor sources of supply for the manufacture and/or repair of assigned electronics systems and subsystems and develop repair estimates
  • Gather, collect, record, track, and verify data from multiple sources and maintain DMSMS records Assist Engineering groups with the selection and validation of replacement components Facilitate resolution activities via multiple communication avenues; coordinate and integrate approved resolutions
  • Assist in developing program metrics for evaluating the effectiveness o activities Analyze and monitor the lifecycle of components and systems to identify potential DMSMS and obsolescence risks.
  • Develop and execute risk mitigation strategies, including identifying replacement parts, redesign efforts, or alternative solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, procurement, logistics, and sustainment teams, to implement obsolescence solutions effectively.
  • Conduct market research to identify sources for end-of-life components or parts.
  • Provide engineering support to address obsolescence-related issues in technical tactical jamming systems.
  • Maintain an up-to-date database of parts, suppliers, and status of components at risk.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations on DMSMS and obsolescence tasking for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support restoration and repair functions by tracking material requirements, identifying obsolescence issues, monitoring parts scheduling, procurement, receipt, storage, and timely distribution of parts.
  • Research vendor sources of supply for the manufacture and/or repair of electronics systems and subsystems.
  • Assist in developing repair estimates by analyzing market research and vendor data.
  • Conduct parts research by examining technical drawings to verify part numbers and ensure compliance with military specifications.
  • Provide market research analysis for obsolete and replacement parts, assessing compatibility of form, fit, function, and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with government and industry standards. 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 2 years related experience
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Ability to provide obsolescence Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) focusing on lifecycle management activities supporting multiple DoD systems
  • Ability to identify obsolescence issues and conduct parts research and provide market research analysis for obsolete and replacement parts to determine compatibility of form, fit, function, and performance based on technical drawings 
  • Ability to research vendor sources of supply for the manufacture and/or repair of assigned electronics systems and subsystems and develop repair estimates 
  • Ability to assist Engineering groups with the selection and validation of replacement components 
  • Ability to develop and execute risk mitigation strategies, including identifying replacement parts, redesign efforts, or alternative solutions. 
  • Ability to conduct market research to identify sources for end-of-life components or parts.
