SAIC is looking for a Solutions Architect/Technical Lead for a mission critical Digital Transformation project for the United States federal government. The solution architect will bring experience with architecting and implementing cloud and data analytics solutions, applications development, systems architecture and design for enterprise digital transformation projects. The Solutions Architect will have both, the breadth and depth in digital systems engineering and cloud integration and has been part of Agile software development projects as a solutions architect / technical lead. Should have the passion for solving problems using cloud platform services such as Google/AWS/Azure cloud, data analytics services, secure software technologies and Agile DevOps driven SDLC for mission critical systems and solutions development.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops and oversees digital systems architecture using classic and cloud native architectures such a microservices, containerization and API-First design methods.
  • Ensure conversion of mission requirements into total systems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraints of the system.
  • Develops systems and sub system architecture, design, and interface definition.
  • Maintains knowledge of current/growing design and analysis methodologies, emerging technologies for incubation and implementation. Develops models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development.
  • Design and implement cloud-based solutions, distributed systems and data analytics services using Google Cloud services such as Document AI and Cloud Vision OCR
  • Serves as one of the focal points for Agile based software development and communication of the system architecture within Agile teams and client stakeholders.
  • Support solution architecture for RFIs, RFPs and drives the development of technical solutions on proposals when needed.
  • Participates in large system and subsystem planning and designs and codes software components, units, and modules that meet product specification and development schedules.
  • Adheres to product build and release schedules and strategies and acts as a technical resource for lower-level developers.
  • Provides technical leadership to other developers and engineers on the team and ensures software check-ins, builds and deployments are done properly
  • Analyzes functional and system level epics, features and use stories, tasks and supports product road mapping, release planning and leads the feature development sprints
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks with a wide degree of creativity and latitude and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Works with the developers and systems engineers to solve critical problems and identify efficiencies in implementing technical and functional requirements and tasks.

Qualifications

Requirement and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree with Agile and Cloud Certifications
  • 10 years of overall IT experience with software / systems engineering for government or commercial clients using variety of software technologies, cloud platforms and services
  • 5 years of experience with digital transformation and systems modernization implementations including migrating applications, infrastructure and datasets to either AWS or Azure or Google Cloud Platforms (preferred)
  • Lead a team of 5-10 Systems/Software Engineers working with a combination of technologies in an Agile SAFe or Scrum SDLC based environment.
  • Should have 6-8 years of applications development and cloud solutions architecture experience.
  • Technical leadership experience and developed technical designs for cloud-based systems and/or data analytics in Agile Scrum or Kanban/Lean SDLC environment.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.

Covid Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
