SAIC is seeking a Deputy Chief Engineer to join our team to support the Department of Air Force's (DAF)  Advanced Battle Management System's (ABMS) Digital Infrastructure (DI), Digital Infrastructure Processing Node (DIPN) Product Line Team. ABMS is the Air Force's latest effort to create a next-generation command and control (C2) system and is a top modernization priority for the DAF. ABMS will be the backbone of a network-centric approach to battle management in partnership with all the services across the Department of Defense. The broader effort known as the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) is focused on rapid integration of capabilities and modernizing the decision-making processes for combat operations.

This position will serve as Deputy to the DIPN CE, supporting each of the CE Position responsibilities as needed, with particular focus on engineering process development & DIPN feature-level coordination across diverse development and support teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 15 years of experience
  • Secret Security Clearance
  • 10+ years of combined product development experience
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing product development teams of this scope and complexity
  • Demonstrated experience designing and deploying agile engineering processes
  • Extraordinary communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Extraordinary interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience managing team dynamics & resolving conflicts
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • Proven willingness and ability to embrace rapid change in an agile and highly-collaborative prototyping and engineering team
  • Proven experience with agile techniques and practices in context of product development
  • Strong Jira & Confluence experience (as a user) for tracking complex product development
  • Strong familiarity across a variety of technical disciplines associated with IT infrastructures (hardware, software, virtualization, cyber)
  • Working knowledge of project management concepts and principles, including release scheduling
  • Experience with Air Force Command & Control & Intelligence/Surveillance/Reconnaissance systems, networks, data, and standards
DESIRED
  • Experience with Product Line Engineering (PLE)
  • Experience with SAFe agile processes, in particular
  • Experience working with distributed teams

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
