SAIC is seeking a Database Administrator Principal to join the Machine-assisted Analytic Rapid-repository System (MARS) Advanced Development Operations (DevOps) and Sustainment Support (ADOS) program and provide support to facilitate operations of critical MARS infrastructure and services. This effort focuses on providing a comprehensive set of System/ Software Engineering and IT Services to maintain, sustain, enhance, and improve/ modernize MARS. The ideal candidate will be located in the National Capital Region.
Please note that this is contingent upon contract award, with an anticipated decision expected by fall 2025.
The Database Administrator Principal responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the strategy, deployment, and management of complex, high-security database systems within MARS
- Conducts advanced troubleshooting and performance optimization. Leads disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure data availability
- Develops and enforces strict database policies and best practices. Provides expert mentorship to junior database administrators
- Coordinates with IT teams to integrate database solutions within broader MARS systems
- Keeps current with emerging database technologies and trends to drive continuous improvements
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Bachelor's and 9 years or more of related experience; Masters and 7 years or more experience (an additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
- Advanced database management, performance tuning, data integrity, backup and recovery operations, high-level maintenance and upgrades, and compliance auditing
- Proficiency with various DBMS, familiarity with operating systems
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
Desired Qualifications:
- Desired Certifications: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cloud+, Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
Additional Openings:
- Database Administrator: Bachelor's and 2 years or more of related experience; (an additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
- Database Administrator Senior: Bachelor's and 5 years or more related experience; Masters and 3 years or more experience (an additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree)
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
