SAIC is seeking meticulous and detail-oriented Editor to support the Army's Combined Arms and Doctrine Directorate (CADD). The primary focus of this role will be on formatting a wide range of documents to meet the specific requirements and standards of United States Army Doctrine.
While the position is 100% remote, the customer is based in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, and proximity to that location would be helpful.
Responsibilities:
- Format and edit various types of documents including publications, manuals, and technical documents in support of the Amy Doctrine revision process.
- Manage multiple document formatting projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines.
- Ensure consistency and accuracy in document layout, headings, fonts, tables, graphics, and adherence to Army style guidelines and standards.
- Collaborate with authors, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to understand the document requirements and ensure all specifications are met.
- Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure all documents are free from errors and inconsistencies.
- Stay updated on Army formatting standards and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to team members on document formatting processes and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in document editing and formatting, preferably within a military or defense environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to both work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Minimum Secret clearance required.
Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
