About the Job:

Type : Full-time Permanent

Wage : $26.92 per hour

Shifts : Monday to Friday / the shift can start between 5:30 Am and 8:00 Am and go up to 5:00 Pm to 7:00 Pm

Location : Calgary

We need drivers with local Pick-up & Delivery (P&D) experience using rail gates and pallet jacks. Candidates must be able to cover areas as far north as Edmonton and as far south as Lethbridge and Medicine Hat.

The Commercial Driver position operates a commercial motor vehicle driving between pick-up and destination terminals. Ensures that trips are run safety, efficiently and in compliance with company and DOT regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records and logs
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions, required
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures Important, required

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma/GED, preferred
  • Must have a minimum of 9 months verifiable commercial driving experience, required
  • Must not have more than one moving violation or accidents (anything other than parking) in the last 12 months, required
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement, required
