Job Summary:

The Senior Transportation Analyst is responsible for the KDP Canada Transportation and Distribution Performance. Key duties are On-time Service Management, Cost Compliance / Savings, and continuous improvement projects. This position will identify service trends and apply sound root cause analysis. Create and implement solutions to positively impact carrier performance while also reducing costs. Accountable for ensuring site capacity planning, exception management and operations readiness is in line with client business needs.

Detailed Responsibilities:

  • Direct link with Canada shipping locations on all Ryder Dock Scheduling Issues
  • Interface with KDP Canada team and carrier operations to resolve any problems associated with dock scheduling, equipment and service delinquency.
  • Recommend and/or support programs in collaboration with KDP Transport Operations and Ryder Command & Control team and/or client plant/warehouse manager
  • Monitor carrier service and cost performance.
  • Work with Carrier Manager to implement and manage corrective actions plans.
  • Administrate and manage periodic carrier performance scorecards, KPI's and carrier business reviews.
  • Directlyinterface with internal and external customers
  • Manage Canada Prime Tender Acceptance & On Time to Delivery. In addition to overall department savings.
  • Ensure that all lanes have primary carriers and work with Procurement to address any new lanes or sourcing changes
  • Proactively manage carrier performance of Intra Company Shipments and Customer Orders
  • Represent Ryder/KDPTransportation on all site related calls or meetings
  • Ownership of continuous improvement and savings projects
  • Provide all support function activity including accuracy and timeliness of data processing, reporting, analysis, and all other customer specific inquiries.
  • Ability to interact with clients directly in resolving problems and providing recommendations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KPI Performance:

  • Achieve 95% on time performance to pick-up appointment
  • Achieve 90% on time performance to RDD for loads originating from the RDC
  • Achieve 95% primary carrier tender acceptance on all contracted lanes
  • Achieve 95 % on time performance to delivery appointments

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

  • MS Office (Proficiency in Excel, Access & PowerPoint)
  • Ryder TM Operating Systems (i2TMS & Ryder On line)
  • 3rd Party Appointing Tool (Carrier Point)

Required Experience:

  • Fluent verbally and written in English and French
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years logistics/transportation industry experience; CPG or Retail Distribution a plus for the position
  • Experience with the transportation management function including modal operations (TL, IM, LTL), advanced knowledge of DOT, OSHA and related Safety Regulations; strong contracting and rate knowledge and experience
  • Strong communication, planning, and negotiating skills
  • General management experience with emphasis on customer relations, staffing, organizing, motivating, supervising, and communication.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Business, Logistics or related field of study or a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience
  • Five (5) years or more industry related experience required
