Job Description :

Summary

The Cross-Border Operations Account Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing daily operations for accounts involving cross-border freight, with a particular focus on U.S.-Mexico cross-border shipments. This role requires close coordination with customers, shippers, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure regulatory compliance, seamless transit, and high service quality. The role combines working with the pricing team, customer service, and supporting and working closely with the sales team. Bilingual proficiency preferred (English/Spanish)

Essential Functions

  • Develop relationships with transportation providers to maximize penetration of customer freight portfolio through soliciting capacity
  • Leads small group of SMA's as a mentor. Supports all parties with carrier related issues as needed. Staffing performance management and development of SMAs to ensure established performance goals within the team
  • Tenders accept/reject loads, creates loads, sets appointments, dispatches, tracks and traces loads, root cause problem solves issues, and resolves/communicates to carrier and/or customer as appropriate
  • Negotiate rates with transportation providers to ensure that margins are achieved for commission targets and account goals
  • Manage day-to-day planning and scheduling of coverage for loads to ensure proper all customer's needs are met in the agreed upon time period

Additional Responsibilities

  • Continuous improvement in all segments of the business
  • Schedules and dispatches while ensuring compliance of Federal, State, and Local regulations. Responsible for timely updating of load statuses to the TMS.
  • Maintain a positive employee related climate and maintain a customer satisfaction index at a World Class Level while having availability 24/7/365 for responsibilities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Manage international and domestic shipments, with a focus on cross-border freight using TMS tools like Turvo.
  • Coordinate with the carrier's sales team, customs brokers, and internal teams to ensure compliance and smooth operations.
  • Quote spot freight, negotiate rates, and identify growth opportunities within customer accounts.
  • Maintain customer SOPs, track KPIs, and handle escalations involving customs or operational delays.
  • Monitor AR/AP issues related to cross-border transactions and collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Provide regular updates on shipment status and maintain visibility for customers and internal teams

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma/GED, Required
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Logistics, or related field of study, Preferred
  • 3 years or more in Business related experience, Required
  • MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc) Intermediate, Required

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:
