Description

Obstetrics and Gynecology – Research Faculty
Rush University Medical Center
Chicago, IL

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of OBGYN Research Faculty.

This Research Faculty member will support the development of the OBGYN Research Program by conducting complex reproductive health research to decrease reproductive health disparities and enhance health equity. The Chair of the Department is a successful NIH-funded investigator with multiple clinical trials in the areas of Contraception Provision and HIV Prevention. We are seeking individuals who will conduct innovative, rigorous, grant-funded research, engage in scholarly activities (peer-reviewed publications, presentations, etc.), and can mentor other faculty members. Specifically, this individual should plan and direct qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis, and other research relevant to Obstetrics and Gynecology and related subspecialties, including Complex Family Planning, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, and Urogynecology. Research should promote collaborations that bring together stakeholders from inside and outside the healthcare system to address disparities in health outcomes. Rush University partners with the University of Chicago and other local health systems and universities in the Institute for Translational Medicine (www.chicagoitm.org), a NIH translational sciences center. With DePaul University, Rush established the Center for Community Health Equity (https://www.healthequitychicago.org/) to advance public health and reduce health disparities through community-engaged inquiry, scholarship, and service. Rush is also a participant in the PCORI-funded Chicago-Area Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Network, or CAPriCORN (http://capricorncdrn.org/). These networks, combined with Rush's own internal culture of interprofessional collaboration, make this a rich environment in which talented researchers can thrive.

Ideal candidates are MD/DO and BC/BE in Obstetrics and Gynecology and PhD level candidates with training in Public Health, Epidemiology or other related fields.
