Title: Research Technologist - Vector Development GMP

1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Supports Vector Development and Manufacturing Facility. Assists with or conducts experiments and procedures under the direction of a supervisor, presents findings including preliminary interpretation for further review. Works closely with others in a team setting as well as independently, displays good time management skills, and is highly organized.

Perform scaling experiments, analytical tests, and manufacturing procedures using aseptic techniques under cGMP conditions. Perform manufacturing procedures for extended procedures in full GMP gowning.

Perform cell culture techniques for primary cells and cell lines with aseptic techniques. Prepare cell banks, maintain cell stock levels, and perform transfer of cell banks to collaborating researchers and analytical teams.

Prepare standard operating procedures, worksheets and batch records in accordance with good documentation procedures.

Perform good laboratory stewardship, maintains cleanliness of laboratory and monitors and maintains equipment and materials for use in research and manufacturing. Order and inventory supplies, reagents, materials and equipment for use in the vector facility. Maintain cryostorage inventory of samples and products.

Perform analytical procedures such as ddPCR, ELISA, cell culture, titrations, qPCR, endotoxin flow cytometry, and transduction efficiency. Document work with accuracy and detail, compile and enter data and results into the Bluecord Laboratory Management System laboratory notebook and sample resulting modules. Interpret analytical results and prepare reports to include generating tables and graphs as needed for review by supervisors.

Conduct literature and publication searches, obtain references; maintain reference files in the laboratory. Collaborate with other departments and researchers across the organization.

Perform PBMC isolations and T- cell selections. Perform DNA extractions and nucleic acid quantification.

Cross trains on various cell therapy related procedures, analytics, and manufacturing equipment and techniques. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety and compliance standards.

The pay range for this position is $50,456 - $63,986 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

1. Master's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline; or
2. Bachelor's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
  • 6 months of cell culture experience with primary cells and cell lines
  • Experience with Microsoft Office software especially Excel, Word and Outlook, FlowJo/FCS Express
  • Introductory experience with PCR, flow cytometry and ELISA assays
  • Experience with handling potentially infectious agents
