Title: Research Technologist – Vector Development and Manufacturing

1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: The Research Technologist supports the Vector Development and Manufacturing Facility by assisting with or independently conducting experiments and manufacturing procedures under the direction of department supervisors. This role requires strong organizational and time management skills, the ability to work both collaboratively and independently, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in a regulated environment.

•Support research and vector manufacturing activities under supervision.
•Perform scaling experiments, analytical tests, and manufacturing procedures using aseptic techniques in compliance with cGMP standards.
•Execute extended manufacturing procedures while fully gowned in GMP attire.
•Conduct cell culture techniques for both primary cells and cell lines, including preparation and maintenance of cell banks and coordination of transfers to collaborators.
•Draft and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), worksheets, and batch records following good documentation practices.
•Maintain laboratory cleanliness and equipment readiness; monitor inventory and order supplies, reagents, and materials.
•Manage cryostorage inventory of samples and products.
•Accurately document experimental work and results in the Bluecord Laboratory Management System; compile data, generate tables and graphs, and prepare reports for supervisor review.
•Conduct literature reviews and maintain reference files to support ongoing research.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams and researchers across the organization.
•Perform PBMC isolations, T-cell selections, DNA extractions, and nucleic acid quantification.
•Cross-train in cell therapy-related procedures, analytics, and equipment.
•Adhere to departmental policies, quality assurance programs, and safety/compliance standards.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.

The pay range for this position is $50,456 - $63,986 which includes a comprehensive benefits package. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

1. Master's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline; or
2. Bachelor's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 months of hands-on experience with cell culture techniques involving primary cells and cell lines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with FlowJo or FCS Express are nice to have.
  • Experience handling potentially infectious agents in a laboratory setting.
