1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: The Biorepository and Laboratory Services Shared Resource is seeking a Research Associate to perform a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tests and experimental procedures for the purposes of original research which generally are within a well-defined body of scientific knowledge and typically contribute to larger research efforts of independent investigators. Candidate will manage pathology biospecimen acquisition, pre-analytical processing, and delivery for clinical research studies, following study specific requirements and departmental policy, to contribute to the scientific research and the development of new cancer therapeutics. Also analyzes clinical study documents to identify potential issues related to the collection of required biospecimens. Note: This is not a position to perform and publish your own research, rather part of the clinical research team conducting trials of new cancer therapeutics, led by Roswell investigators, NCI co-operative groups, and Pharmaceutical companies. While not patient-facing, this position does involve assessing patient eligibility and facilitating study entry.The starting salary for the Research Associate role is $59,537. This includes a comprehensive benefits package. The listed pay range reflects the range of potential compensation for this role. The actual offer may vary based on qualifications, skills, and experience. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
1. Master's degree and the equivalent of eighteen (18) months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment; or
2. Bachelor's degree and the equivalent of thirty (30) months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment.
NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
1. Accuracy, attention to detail, able to follow written policies and procedures
2. Lab Experience: Clinical/Clinical Research/Path/or Histology lab
3. Experience extracting information from medical records and Pathology reports
4. Strong Customer Service/ Verbal & Written Communication Skills
5. Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel/Teams
6. One of more years experience following information in Clinical Research Protocols & Lab Manuals, especially in Oncology
7. Experience in Cerner Lab Information systems (Millenium or AP) and
Sunrise EHR or equivalent, LIMS, Central Lab portals
8. Critical thinking skills
