FTE:

1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Cancer Prevention and Control is seeking a Project Assistant to provide study related support and collect, clean, and interpret data for an observational epidemiology study with breast cancer patients. Duties to include preparing data for statistical and data analysis on epidemiological research study with breast cancer patients. Conduct beginner analyses of biomedical data and assist in writing statistical code, as well as assisting with written reports and visual displays of data for manuscripts and scientific presentations. Assist with data collection, data entry, and data verification including contacting and conducting informed consent, telephone interviews, and biospecimen collection of study participants. Contribute to the planning and management of research activities with the research team. The candidate will be responsible for entering and managing contacts in tracking databases, entering data, verifying accuracy of entered data, and performing descriptive and predictive data analyses and interpretation. The candidate will attend meetings and training as necessary and provide general support to the research staff and principal investigators.

Salary range for this position is $43,412 - $55,506 annually which includes a comprehensive benefits package. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in the functional area of assignment; or
2. Associate's degree in an appropriate field and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience in the functional area of assignment.

Note: Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.

Preferred Qualificaitons:

The Ideal candidate will have the following skills/experiences:

  • Experience with data entry, data management, and analysis
  • Master's Degree in Epi, Public Health, or Science related field
  • Experience with patient screening, consenting, scheduling, and facilitation of study visits in a medical, epidemiologic, or social/ behavioral research setting.  
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and prior experience with Electronic Health System
  • Experience with semi-structured medical interviewing and customer service
