Title: Pathology Resource Technologist [RP-N] Company: Health Research Inc. Department: Pathology Core Facility Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 Shift: Second Shift (United States of America) Summary: The schedule for this position is 12;) pm - 8:30 pm M-F
Provides technical supervision and training for subordinate level staff members; performs and manages simple and complex experimental/laboratory tasks independently within the Pathology Resource laboratories and tissue banks to provide services or laboratory results for customers/investigators for use in research projects related to the treatment and prevention of cancer and cancer-related diseases in a timely, accurate and dependable manner. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor's degree in a biological science; or
2. Associate's degree in a biological science and the equivalent of two (2) years of full-time experience as a Histotechnician, Histotechnologist I [Roswell Park], Histotechnologist II [Roswell Park], and/or as a Pathology Resource Technician [Roswell Park]; or
3. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of four (4) years of full time experience as a Histotechnician, Histotechnologist I [Roswell Park], Histotechnologist II [Roswell Park], and/or as a Pathology Resource Technician [Roswell Park].
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
The preferred candidate will have a Bachelor's in a biological science, experience in a research laboratory setting; experience in histology procedures. fresh tissue handling, tissue biobanking; have exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
