Title: Medical Social Worker II

Job Type:

Temporary, Benefited Company: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Department: Psychosocial Oncology Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 FTE: 1 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Provides clinical social work services, including, but not limited to the diagnostic assessment of mental, emotional, behavioral, addictive and developmental disabilities and the psychosocial aspects of illness, injury and impairment within a psychosocial framework; administers tests and measures of psychosocial functioning; develops and implements assessment based treatment plans; participates in research in collaboration with other members of the psychosocial team and organization staff; utilizes social work theory, principles and methods to provide strength based assessment, evaluation, formulation and implementation of a treatment plan to address the psychosocial aspects of illness, it's impact on the patient and caregiveing system; provides distress management oriented psychotherapy with the goal of resolving psychosocial dysfunction and eliminating barriers to effective disease management; provides information and referral to community resources for patients requiring post hospital services and assists in ensuring a safe discharge through participation in planning and arrangement of services as appropriate.

This is a full-time temporary benefited position. Salary range is $65,001-$82,656 which includes a comprehensive benefits package. Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

Licensure Requirement
New York State licensure as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), eligible for the Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Education and Experience
Master's degree in Social Work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) accredited facility and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in Medical Social Work, bereavement counseling, and/or experience in a comprehensive cancer center or a related field.

NOTE:
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited school, college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
