Title: Administrative Assistant II Company: Roswell Park Cancer Institute Department: Cancer Genetics & Genomics Time Type: Full time Weekly Hours: 40 Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: Coordinate travel arrangements and reimbursements; completes vouchers and purchase requisitions; processes departmental payroll; manages calendars and sets up meetings for department chair and multiple faculty members; Maintains CV's, biosketches and other support documents; assists with preparation of grant applications, manuscripts, and presentations; Perform advanced duties, i.e. obtains and enters data to support various projects; monitors existing grants; compiles, sorts and verifies accuracy of data; Writes routine correspondence independently, often requiring technical knowledge of the particular function involved; Plans and develops procedures to address service improvements in particular areas of assignments; develops new, and maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, and safety and compliance standards; Attends meetings and records meeting minutes as required; Functions as part of the Cancer Genetics team and is expected to perform the above duties independently, confidentially, and with a high level of organization and attention to detail Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
1. Associate's degree and the equivalent of four (4) years of full-time secretarial or related experience; or
2. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma and the equivalent of five (5) years of full-time secretarial or related experience.
Required degrees must have been granted by an accredited college or university or one recognized by Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center as following acceptable educational practices.
The preferred candidate will have Research related experience (grant, manuscripts, presentations); Advanced Microsoft Office skills including Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point; Experience with using social media for public outreach and scientific news sharing; Coordinating/facilitating special events; High quality resume (formatting, written communication skills, job history/stability)
