Overview
Reporting to the Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Program Specialist, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) provides essential operational and administrative support for university-wide DEI initiatives. Assisting in coordinating programs, events, and training while maintaining records and tracking programmatic outcomes, the Program Specialist helps build an inclusive university community by supporting efforts to recruit and retain diverse talent and engaging with the graduate student and postdoctoral population.
Responsibilities
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide operational support for DEI programs, including coordinating logistics for events, training sessions, and meetings;
- Maintain organized records, data, reports and assist with communication efforts such as newsletters and updates;
- Support data collection efforts and generate basic summaries and reports;
- Act as a point of contact for DEI-related inquiries and requests;
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to advance DEI activities and support outreach and recruitment of diverse talent;
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the CDO.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree and at least two (2) years of professional experience in a related field;
- Must possess strong organizational and time-management skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ideal candidate can work effectively independently and in a team setting; is familiar with DEI concepts and practices; must possess proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in event planning or program coordination;
- Familiarity with higher education or nonprofit environments;
- Demonstrated interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on various factors, including but not limited to organizational budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Compensation Range: Min
USD $75,000.00/Yr.
Compensation Range: Max
USD $85,000.00/Yr.
