Summary

The Director of Business Performance Management - Portfolio and Finance will drive strategic growth and operational efficiency across RNDC. This individual will lead and develop a team providing supplier and financial management support to their assigned state(s).  This team will play a pivotal role in achieving financial targets, supplier strategy, sales and operations planning, sales communications, gross profit expansion, goal planning, inventory management, and pricing strategy.  They will analyze key performance indicators, identify opportunities for improvement, and execute initiatives to optimize business performance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and analytical capabilities, experience in sales, financial planning, and analysis (FP&A), and a deep understanding of the beverage alcohol market dynamics and supplier ways of working. Works closely with suppliers, sales teams, portfolio managers, sales operations and commercial finance to develop programs that drive the business; communicates program progress; and manages inventory to support programs. Role reports to an EVP.

In this role, you will
  • Lead and mentor a team of Finance and Portfolio Managers, fostering a data-driven culture that drives accountability and continuous improvement.  Collaborate with Local and Corporate leadership to define, align, and monitor strategic objectives across their respective markets.
  • Lead the Market(s) long-range plan (LRP), annual plan, monthly/quarterly actuals, and forecast/rolling estimate process.  Own and set the local budget (both CapEx and full P&L including sales, gross profit, and Opex elements) and budgeting process with FP&A, maintaining, and communicating targets/goals. 
  • Partner with commercial teams to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitor performance to drive revenue growth strategies. Work closely with the marketing team to evaluate campaign effectiveness, optimize promotional activities, and improve ROI    
  • Develop strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization and our supplier partners to ensure successful implementation of business initiatives and profitably driving supplier strategies.
  • Collaborate with Commercial Intelligence & Sales Performance Management to execute against performance scorecards, dashboards, reports, and other tools to measure key performance metrics (e.g. financial analysis, sales growth, margin expansion, market share)
  • Analyze, sales, marketing, performance and financial data and present monthly reviews to cross-functional teams and senior management, enabling informed, data-driven decisions and align on actions to optimize opportunities and mitigate risks
  • Provide financial leadership in margin management and optimization for RNDC's suppliers in assigned state(s). Develop and implement processes to ensure effective and consistent margin management over time.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies, propose solutions, and drive initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Additionally, analyze business risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to influence financial results, including implementing mitigating and corrective actions if the business deviates from the plan.
  • Coordinate supplier business to maximize contributions, facilitate communication, and optimize inventory levels. Manage commercial plans, new item setups, targets, and supplier goals to ensure successful execution within the state(s).
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and inefficiencies, propose solutions, and drive initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Additionally, analyze business risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to influence financial results, including implementing mitigating and corrective actions if the business deviates from the plan.
     
What you bring to RNDC
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field required; Master's Degree preferred.  
  • Ten or more years of relevant experience, including eight or more years in management within the alcoholic beverage industry highly preferred.  
  • Exceptional ability to read, analyze, interpret complex documents, and deliver effective presentations to senior management and public audiences.  
  • Proficiency in advanced mathematical concepts (algebra and statistics) to derive actionable insights from business data.  
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in Excel and Power BI, along with experience in database and supply chain software.  
  • CPA, CMA, CFA, or similar qualifications preferred but not required.  
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
