Position Summary

The position will manage the strategic and operational activities associated with the Company's employee welfare health programs and tactical HR information systems.  Will oversee the day-to-day Benefits team and performs a variety of management and administrative functions.  In conjunction with the CHRO, this position makes recommendations to senior management on benefit policy, plan design, and vendors. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provides counsel and guidance to management on a variety of issues related to employee benefit plan design and trends, compensation practices and Company trends and HR system needs.
  • Ensures benefit plan compliance with regulatory agencies and Federal / State laws. Interprets benefits policies, procedures and laws for the Company, ensuring adherence to all applicable regulations.
  • Manages and leads the overall wellness strategy for the Company.
  • Analyzes and evaluates services, coverage, premiums, and options available to determine which programs best meet the needs of the Company and its employees.
  • Performs periodic financial analysis of benefit costs and identifies issues and makes recommendations for their resolution. Analyzes benefits claims experience for cost control and risk mitigation.
  • Manages the development and delivery of employee communications related to new or revised benefit plans and plan provisions; manages the annual employee benefits open enrollment process.
  • Manages the administration and transfer of accurate employee benefits data to or from, external vendors, plan providers, auditors, external consultants and payroll department.
  • Acts as direct liaison to Company benefit carriers and is the focal point for all communications with benefits broker. Works with broker and vendors to resolve escalated benefits administration problems and issues. 
  • Ensures that data integrity within the HRIS system is upheld and that all administrative processes for record keeping are in compliance with federal/state law.

Requirements

  • Education:  Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience:  Current knowledge of benefits issues and human resources practices to ensure compliance with Federal and state regulations (e.g., ADA, FMLA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration and plan design.  Knowledge and understanding of insurance contracts.  Background encompassing Benefits, HR systems, Compensation, and Management.  Strong 401(k) background.  System experience with UKG is a preferred.
  • Project management experience including the managing/delivery of projects
  • Working knowledge of compliance matters as they relate to a variety of HR functions.
  • Skill-in: Minimum of 5 years experience in benefits administration and plan design.  Knowledge and understanding of insurance contracts.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, HRIS reporting, strong analytical skills and communication skills.  Ability to present ideas and make recommendations to management and employees.
  • This role will be required to report to our Denver office and will not be a remote opportunity.

Compensation

  • Base Salary: $100,000-$125,000
  • FLSA Status: Exempt 
  • Bonus Type: Year-end Discretionary
