The position of Cash Application Specialist will be based out of our Beaverton, OR location!

 

Summary
The Cash Application Specialist is responsible for assisting in overseeing the daily operations of the Cash Application team with guidance from management. Will also assist with balancing and maintaining the integrity of the Accounts Receivable asset, prepare reports, analyze data, and ensures proper storage of bank images. The Cash Application Specialist will provide training and mentoring to new hires, and assist with ongoing employee training and development. Helps to foster a team environment which embraces open communications, cooperation, and a positive attitude aimed at striving for continuous improvement and increased efficiency.

 

What You'll Do

  • Provide subject matter expertise, guidance, and assist with mentoring the Cash Applications team for the purpose of achieving daily workload and productivity goals
  • Assist with new hire and ongoing training for the Cash Application team, focusing on processes, procedures, and performance of key tasks
  • Act as a Team Lead by prioritizing, delegating, and directing work assignments of Cash Applications team members
  • Assist with reconciliation of Accounts Receivable and Branch accounts
  • Complete write offs and cash receipt corrections as needed
  • Daily and monthly cash and general ledger reconciliation
  • Ensure all adjustments, write offs, and intercompany transfers are completed by month end
  • Interface with the bank and resolve issues related to bank feeds and payments
  • Ensure the integrity of the documents by validating they are properly maintained and controlled
  • Ensure daily cash receipts are processed timely and accurately, and deductions are minimized
  • Monitor untimely applied items and determine root cause
  • Provide accurate reporting to management, including productivity and team performance reports
  • Regularly report to management all issues that negatively impact the Accounts Receivable team
  • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated or complex issues
  • Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

  • High School or GED    
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree preferred in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years of Cash Applications/Accounts Receivable experience

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Knowledge in working with an ERP computer system
  • Understanding of general accounting principles, practices, and procedures with the ability to follow SOP's
  • Strong PC and Microsoft Office skills
