Description

  • Responsible for the proactive planning, oversight, and assignment of the intermodal equipment on all inbound and outbound moves
  • Proactively monitor all equipment assigned to the operation and advance plan the assets next move post-tank (if applicable) wash based on equipment forward demand within the region
  • Engages in daily review of equipment balance, both current and future needs, as assigned to region to align ongoing operational demand with the appropriate equipment balance levels
  • Collaborates with the Intermodal Customer Service team as well as other QC support departments on all assets requiring maintenance/inspections or accessorial work to ensure smooth workflow and reduced down time of assets at vendors, company maintenance shops, or tank washes
  • Assists with the applicable tank wash process on all inbound equipment to ensure timely tank wash assignments, confirmation of prior product compatibility with the tank wash, scheduling, PO coordination, and ongoing communication with tank wash on ETA to verify timely completion for upcoming planning and assignment
  • Ensure equipment is ready for use at the appointed time, utilizing all equipment and resources to do so
  • Work with maintenance facilities and vendors on a daily basis to ensure intermodal equipment is in full compliance with all federal, state and local regulations as well as all QC preventative maintenance standards
  • Manage all asset assignments in collaboration Intermodal and terminal personnel, ensuring that complete work assignments can be sent to all drivers
  • Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned

 

Education

  • 2 year degree preferred
  • High school or GED required

 

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities (Competencies)

  • 2 –3 year's' experience Dispatcher or Transportation operations experience
  • Intermodal (rail) planning/operations preferred
  • Basic knowledge of company's various business operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized, detail oriented, and ability to take initiative
  • Ability to prioritize and hands multiple tasks
  • Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently, as required
  • Knowledge of Google apps and Microsoft Office products preferred
  • Strong analytical and planning skills

 

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:  This is a full-time in office position, 5 days a week including participation in an on-call rotation for outside working hours.

Travel: Rare

Work Environment:  This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office and computer equipment.
