WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Leave of Absence (“LOA”) Administrator will manage and process team member leave requests, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements. This role involves coordinating with team members and managers to facilitate smooth transitions and timely communication during leave of absences. Job duties include:
- Communicate with team members regarding their need for leave and/or modified work schedules.
- Ensure team members are aware of the actions, documentation, and notices required to qualify for and to take leave.
- Manage the Federal Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”) leave administration process from the team members initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
- Maintain reasonable communication with team members on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work.
- Relay communication between team members and their managers during leave within reason.
- Advise managers and team members on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
- Oversee the return-to-work process for team members returning from extended FMLA, worker's compensation, or other leave(s).
- Facilitate other leave requests, which may include accommodation requests under the ADA.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of leave and accommodation requests in accordance with specified legal requirements and documentation of best practices.
- Preserve confidentiality of team member medical documentation and files.
- Maintain knowledge of all applicable leave and accommodation laws including the FMLA, ADA, and state and local laws.
- Other duties as assigned.
YOUR MUST HAVES:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (“GED”).
- 2 or more years of experience with leave of absence administration and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Proficient with computer/technology including Microsoft Office and Adobe programs.
WHAT WE PREFER YOU HAVE:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in business with human resources emphasis.
- Bilingual (Spanish) skills to include written and verbal translations.
OUR ENVIRONMENT:
This is a hybrid role, partially based at the Corporate Headquarters, combining time in a traditional office setting with remote work from your professional home office. You will be expected to work on-site at minimum three days a week. The position requires sitting for extended periods of time while working on a computer.
