Job Summary
Based in the Prisma Health Richland Level 1 Adult and Level 2 Pediatric trauma centers a newly established hospital-based violence intervention program (HVIP) aims to prevent and reduce community and interpersonal violence among high-risk youth and adults. This role promotes optimal social and emotional functioning of HVIP participants and their families through direct and indirect services, to include, but not limited to development of psychosocial assessments, community resource linkages and referrals. This role also performs individual, group, and family counseling.Accountabilities
*Participates in policy/procedure development for the HVIP counseling program.
*Provides direct individual, family and/or group counseling services to program participants and families.
*Develops measurable goals related to problems while in program develop action plans with program participants and coordinate multi-disciplinary hospital and community services to help address individuals' risks, social determinants of health and recovery utilizing health care and community resources.
*Participates as an active member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.
*Maintains appropriate and timely documentation of services in the medical record. Data entry and management that will involve inputting data on baseline assessments, interventions, and follow-ups for the purpose of program evaluation.
Supervisory/Management Responsibility
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Master's degree in social work, psychology, human services, counseling, or sociology.
2 years of experience in a mental health counseling or psychiatric setting.
Licensed as a LMSW or LISW or eligible to obtain licensure in South Carolina preferred.
Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and a certificate of auto insurance.
Other Required Skills and Experience
Candidates with personal knowledge and experience in overcoming violence/ violence-related injuries/ the criminal justice system preferred.
Knowledge of local community issues, specifically community and youth violence preferred.
