The Lead Quality Test Engineer position at PMA empowers developers to efficiently test software by providing training, tools, and collaboration. In this role, you will be assisting with the team's transition from a traditional Quality Assurance approach to a Quality Assistance approach. You will join a small team of self-organizing product managers, engineers, and designers to develop commercial software applications with many innovative features. You will therefore have direct, immediate impact on consumer-facing products.
In your day-to-day responsibilities, you will be analyzing user stories' functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and design artifacts. You will create test notes that identify risks, edge cases, non-functional requirements, and test data. You will conduct QA kickoff, Developer in Test, and Blitz test sessions. You will assist developers with developing and maintaining automated unit and integration tests. You will balance the test automation pyramid of unit, component, and integration test coverage and perform exploratory testing. You will optimize/reduce dependency on end-to-end/automated UI regression tests. You will translate bug reports into reproducible test cases. You will track QA-related KPIs/OKRs.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, engineering, math, or related field required; a graduate degree is a plus.
Must have 7+ years of experience programming in C# and C++ on professional software development teams, with 3+ years in a test engineer role for UI-rich Windows applications.
Demonstrable proficiency with automated testing, version control, databases, and XML required.
Must be detail oriented, have excellent communication skills, have a positive attitude, and be motivated to learn.
Knowledge of SmartBear TestComplete, TDD, BDD, and CI/CD desirable.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment and with Jira desirable.
Helpful to have knowledge of project planning/scheduling processes/tools (e.g. the critical path method, Microsoft Project), or project management, or the construction industry.
