Planned Parenthood Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Public Affairs Manager with excellent communication and customer service skills to work in our Downtown Los Angeles Headquarters. This position will collaborate with the Senior Public Affairs Manager and leadership to develop and implement a Public Affairs strategy designed to achieve the Agency's advocacy goals - including public education, direct lobbying of elected officials, and grassroots community organizing. Monitor local, state, and federal legislation to ensure that Planned Parenthood Los Angeles staff and supporters have the tools, information, opportunity, and motivation to be effective advocates. Help support daily activities of the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Project Los Angeles County (PPAP), a 501(c)(4) organization, including election analysis, public education, candidate research and endorsement, fundraising, Board management, and community and electoral organizing. Help maintain PPLA and PPAP legal compliance. Assist PPAP online communications platforms, including website, Twitter, and Facebook accounts. Additionally, manage VAN supporter database; train other staff, volunteers, and interns in proper use and support the Public Affairs Department in a wide variety of projects.
