Senior Data Scientist

Location: Beachwood, OH

As a Penske Senior Data Scientist you will be responsible for building, delivering and maintaining data science solutions that enables Penske to advance our predictive analytics capabilities. You will function in a project/technical leadership role and will complete high-level data science solutions. You will also conduct appropriate testing and provide support to end users for implemented solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and define system scope and objectives and prepare detailed specifications for data science projects.
  • Develop and maintain scalable data science models.
  • Provide quality reviews and improvements for existing models.
  • Be a technical subject matter expert for the organization in the data science space.
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models that support all aspects of the organization and foster data-driven decision making.
  • Provide both project and technical leadership roles to complete complex system level assignments.
  • Contributes to technical development of junior associates through mentorship and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • The minimum requirements are 3+ years of experience along with a PhD in a related field OR 5+ years of experience along with a Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience designing and building machine learning applications using both structured and unstructured datasets is required.
  • Practical experience programming using Python, R or other high level scripting languages is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with one or more machine learning techniques including logistic regression, decision trees, random forests and clustering is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with SQL is preferred.
  • Regular, predictable, and full attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
