  • Position Summary:

Deliver consistent hands-on training to maintenance associates, particularly Customer Service Representatives and Technicians, within the district. Proper delivery of PM training to leverage skill building techniques while reinforcing maintenance processes and procedures. This position will also build on the TCP skills to accelerate the technician's skills making them eligible to be promoted to the next level.

Major Responsibilities:

• Conduct PM training via hands-on learning environment to service department associates at all levels to include maintenance-specific systems, applications and procedures

• Conduct PM qualifications and recertifications.

• Identify changes to and additional collateral for Penske hands-on and online training. Keep content updated and relevant to new technologies and procedures

• Maintains certifications required for technicians and CSR's, excluding the TCP

• Other projects as assigned by the supervisor

Experience with hydraulic utility equipment such as aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes; or construction, mining, farm equipment such as excavators, skid steers, dozers or tractors; or military heavy equipment such as the MRAP vehicle, HMEE, or tanks; aircraft and aerospace or ground support equipment certifications related to mechanics, electronics, electrical, or hydraulic systems is preferred.

This position will be located at the Berwyn PECO facility but travel to all locations for training. Shifts may fluctuate depending to accommodate technicians on various schedules.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent required

• 608 preferred and 609 EPA certified

• Vocational or technical degree preferred

• At least 7 - 10 years as a technician in the heavy-duty trucking or similar industry

• Advanced knowledge of safety practices, Penske Maintenance procedures and processes, Penske service tools and systems

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make technical information easy to understand for a learning environment

• Ability to travel within the district – 10% required

• Completion of various self-paced/online vendor training and/or completion of the Technician Certification Program

• Excellent listener, communicator and presenter. Easily able to engage the audience and have an approachable presence.

• Process oriented - Penske PM training: DE/ME, LG/RG and an in depth knowledge and understanding of US DOT regulations

• Shop Diagnostic system knowledge: ability to effectively navigate the Penske launcher, all vendor software and website navigation for service information

• Understanding of fault codes, reason and course of actions to correctly and efficiently diagnose and repair

• Ability to work independently with organization and time management skills

• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job

• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
