Position Summary:
Responsible for the daily/weekly maintaining of pallet tracking (where applicable), audit of driver logs and trip reports, log and driver file DOT requirements tracking. Liaison for internal customer support. Track all return goods as directed by the customer for close out of returns from the private fleet.
Major Responsibilities:
• Proper Training and/or facilitate lean and quality related concepts, tools, and methods to supervisors and managers.
• Conducting quality system audits on-site and creating report scorecards for operational locations.
• Assisting locations accomplish lean site certifications to achieve bronze status or one higher than previous site certification.
• Coaching and assisting operational locations in building their action plans (RAILS) to close gaps and realize opportunities identified in the audits, with the goal of fully applying the system at their location.
• Serving as an expert and resource for the locations leadership teams to implement the Kaizen+ program to foster associate engagement in process improvement and track performance based on participation and cost avoidance to targets.
• Actively reward and recognize locations for their accomplishments in the Kaizen+ program, throughout their lean site certification journey and with their lean challenge projects.
• Monitor operational locations progress and summarize status, value add, accomplishments and roadblocks to SOM & GM
• Provide weekly updates and progress on active Kaizen projects by location.
• Oversee local IT and ISO coordinator support staff.
Qualifications:
• 2 years of general office experience required
• 1 year of customer service experience required
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required
• AS400 experience preferred
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening.
