Position Summary:
The HR Project Specialist is responsible for providing HR support for new and add business implementations as well as the facilitation of lost business, under the direction of the Sr. Manager – HR Support Services. This role regularly interfaces with location leaders, cross functional teams, and enterprise teams to provide appropriate support, engagement, and effective communication. This position will be based out of Penske's corporate office located in Reading, PA. This is an office first position, at least 4 days in office per week.
Major Responsibilities:
- Serve as HR point of contact for new business implementations, ensuring HR requirements are met on time and within scope.
- Initiate, manage and complete implementation, tracking progress and escalating potential roadblocks.
- Coordinate and schedule onsite HR support, ensuring adequate coverage during critical phases (orientation, go-live, post go-live) etc.
- Provide centralized HR support for new locations until the location is fully established; expectation is 8 weeks.
- Partner with location leadership, support groups, and local HR partners to identify and escalate risks to the implementation plan.
- Facilitate the smooth transition of HR duties to location management after the go-live date.
- Draft clear and engaging communications related to new business implementation, new hire information, and updates for internal teams.
- Maintain standardized HR documentation, checklists, and procedures.
- Assist in the coordination and facilitation of orientation sessions for new associates.
- Ensure all new associate paperwork and compliance requirements are completed accurately, timely, and efficiently.
- Collaborate with operations, HR, and Talent Acquisition to ensure appropriate staffing levels are achieved.
- Up to 20%, some overnight, and occasional weekend/off shift work is required to support new business implementations, associate orientation, and onboarding.
Other projects and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Human Resources role (generalist, specialist, recruiting) supporting multi-state operations.
- Strong skills in Microsoft office tools.
- Strong organization, communication, and project planning skills.
- Creative, independent self-starter who excels in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to understand business operations from a strategic and tactical perspective.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks with competing priorities, diverse audiences, and challenging environments.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
