Position Summary:
The Liability Claims Examiner is responsible for investigating, documenting, managing, directing, and resolving a variety of claims including auto liability, property, cargo, brokerage, and subrogation. This role involves evaluating claim data to determine legal responsibility and ensure timely and effective resolution in alignment with company goals
Major Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve auto liability, property, cargo, brokerage, and subrogation claims, including alleged vehicle defects.
- Analyze claim data and evaluate facts to determine legal responsibility and settlement strategy.
- Manage resolution of coverage disputes.
- Respond to requests such as tenders to customer insurance carriers and document production.
- Provide guidance to internal teams, external customers, and third-party vendors on claims-related matters.
- Apply best practices to assess the need for third-party intervention or referral.
- Identify and recommend process improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in auto liability insurance claims handling preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to work a hybrid schedule.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to make timely, fact-based decisions.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Access, Excel, Word, AS400, Outlook, and internet research.
- Customer service experience is a plus.
- Strong multitasking abilities and capacity to manage high-volume claims.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
