This position is responsible for managing the business analyst group which is a subset of the IT department at Paycom. In addition to business analyst program development this group also facilitates project management for any projects that interact with the IT dept. This role would be responsible for the complete development and operation of a PMO(project management office) within the IT group. This is a high level management position which is expected to develop, train and retain talent for the team. Some subsets of this group include the management of the IT procurement processes and software approval processes including interaction with accounting and complete ownership of the IT procurement lifecycle. In addition there are some ITSM responsibilities which are performed by this team as well.



  • Development and management of a complete end to end business analyst program
  • Development and management of a complete end to end project management program
  • Aligning project expectations and managing key stakeholders of IT projects which are executed by the IT department
  • Working closely with other departments within Paycom to identify and manage cross functional impacts and dependencies for projects while respecting business analysis workflows
  • Works to analyze, plan, prioritize and execute projects for Paycom business units as they interact with the IT department
  • Manages and appropriately escalates project delivery impediments, risks, issues and changes needed to drive a successful PM and BA program
  • Manages and tracks project health, financials, and other KPIs in relation to the plan and publishing of progress reports, documentation and reporting
  • Establishes software specifications by conferring with users; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing software solutions to business problems
  • Establishes system by planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of software packages and platforms
  • Prepares users by designing and conducting training programs; providing references and support
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Coordinates with upper management to setup new processes and workflows as needed



  • Bachelor Degree Required Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Systems or similar field of study
  • Preferable but not required - Masters of Business Administration / Computer Science

Experience Required: 10+ years in IT industry

  • 8+ years of IT management experience
  • 5+ years experience architecting and implementing a project management team
  • 5+ years experience with end to end IT life cycle(pipelines, resources, demand, project delivery, financial reporting)
  • 3+ years experience with end to end financial management within a technical group(plan, forecast, actuals, requirements, portfolio management, program management)

Knowledge of:

  • Complete understanding of project management concepts and workflows
  • Complete understanding of business analysis concepts and workflows
  • Agile workflows and processes(Scrum master or similar training)
  • General IT knowledge(servers, software, networks)
  • Microsoft and Linux OS basics
  • Software architecture basics(understanding for client-server architectures, thick clients, web applications, agile vs. waterfall software implementations, etc)
  • DEVOPS fundamentals and future trends interacting with software development groups
  • Emerging technology trends hardware, software, devops

Skills and Abilities:

  • Evaluate critical systems, prioritize workflow and determine solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpret and apply laws, regulations and policies
  • Read and understand technical manuals
  • Work for extended time at keyboard/terminal
  • Maintain effective working relationships with business units and internal teams
  • Work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings if required for critical projects
