Description

The Development Project Manager II (PM II) is responsible for overseeing the initiation, planning, execution, and closing of initiatives and projects that are critical to the business, high in priority, and cross multiple delivery teams. A successful PM will understand and implement a scaled project framework, keep executive leadership informed of the progress and status of the overall initiative or project, and will deliver features within the agreed upon scope and time.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with technical and business leaders - including Dev, QA, DBA, IT, App Support, Product, etc. - to understand interdependencies between delivery teams and/or other projects and determine budget and resources needed to complete the scope of work on time
  • Coordinate and facilitate project kick off meeting and meetings with team representatives throughout the development lifecycle to stay informed of progress of each team to have comprehensive knowledge of the overall initiative or project
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders and executive leadership to keep them informed of the progress, timeline, and concerns around the project
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Release Project Managers to understand the product roadmap and scope of the initiatives or projects and the expected delivery dates. Continue regular communication throughout the lifecycle to capture and manage any change requests
  • Develop and maintain a project plan that incorporates all project complexities to set clear expectations on work required and timeline for the overall project
  • Identify and mitigate risks that impact multiple delivery teams and/or other projects and recommend opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiency
  • Coordinate with Product Management on feedback from User Acceptance Testing and Pilots to determine any additional development needed


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors Degree required

Experience Required:

  • 4 years of experience working in a technical role (IT, Application Support, QA, Development, Project Manager, Scrum Master)
  • 3 years of experience managing projects in technical capacity

Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge in MS Office Suite, specifically Word, PPT, Excel, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in written, verbal, and presentation
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and discernment skills
  • Ability to demonstrate organization, project management, planning, decision making, negotiating, diplomacy and change management skills
  • Demonstrated history of completion of complex projects
  • Ability to lead with confidence, influence and work well at all levels of an organization in and cross functional team environment
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management Software

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field
  • PMP Certification

Experience:

  • 5 years experience in leading projects
